Helping Australians navigate career change through a proven career transition methodology.
The Australian Redundancy Centre was established to help Australians confidently navigate one of the biggest career changes they may face. While government agencies and the Fair Work Ombudsman provide information about workplace rights and entitlements, our focus is on helping people secure their next opportunity.
We provide practical career support including resume writing, interview preparation, selection criteria, career guidance, job search strategies and industry insights, helping individuals identify transferable skills and move into new roles as quickly and confidently as possible.
Our goal is simple—turn redundancy into a new beginning.
We have created a series of Workbooks to help you take control of your job search. Enter your details to begin the series:

Need information about your legal entitlements?
Fair Work Australia provides comprehensive information on redundancy pay, notice periods, consultation requirements and employee rights. Services Australia also provides information about income support and financial assistance if you're affected by redundancy.
What should I do next?
We understand it is hard - you need to make the income to firstly pay your bills, and also for yourself and your family to basically live.
Our first piece of advice is - let the feelings go - it can feel personal but usually it isn't - it is a business decision. So, you need to think of it like that and prepare yourself for what is to come. Our number #1 - Don't Panic - Prepare!

Being made redundant can be an emotional experience, particularly if you've dedicated many years to your employer. It's natural to feel disappointed, uncertain or even overwhelmed in the days that follow.
That's why we've deliberately spread this guide over five days rather than trying to do everything at once. The first step is to accept that redundancy is usually a business decision—not a personal reflection of your skills, performance or value.
Taking a little time to gather your thoughts, organise your documents and regain your confidence will help you approach your job search with a clear mind.
By the end of the week, you'll have a plan, a stronger understanding of your achievements and be ready to begin applying for your next opportunity with confidence and purpose.
